Roger Sanchez Returns with ‘Spectrum’, His First Studio Album in Twenty Years
Some albums arrive to capture a moment, while others redefine an artist’s legacy. For Roger Sanchez, Spectrum accomplishes both. Twenty years after his last full-length studio album, the Grammy Award-winning DJ, producer and Stealth Records founder returns with a body of work that celebrates his extraordinary journey while proving that his creative vision remains as relevant as ever.
Recognised as one of the most influential figures in the history of house music, Sanchez has spent decades shaping dancefloors around the world. Now, after six years in development, Spectrum finally arrives as one of the most anticipated house releases of the year.
Rather than revisiting familiar territory, the album embraces the full breadth of Sanchez’s musical identity. From powerful peak-time club records to emotional, cinematic moments, Spectrum blends uplifting grooves, underground energy and soulful songwriting into a project that feels both timeless and contemporary.
The excitement surrounding the album has steadily grown through the release of three standout singles: «Grinnin'» with Fedde Le Grand, «Come My Way», and «Temptation», a collaboration with Low Steppa featuring Ragdoll. Together, they offered only a glimpse of the sonic diversity waiting inside the full record.
One of Spectrum‘s greatest strengths is its impressive list of collaborators. Bringing together artists from across multiple genres and generations, the album features contributions from Melanie C, Kele Le Roc, Chico Castillo, Kelli-Leigh, Carnao Beats, Donae’O and Karen Harding, among others.
A defining highlight comes with «How Do We Say Goodbye», created alongside Karen Harding. Her instantly recognisable vocal performance adds warmth and nostalgia, while Sanchez delivers a production that builds from an atmospheric opening into a euphoric, club-ready climax, creating one of the album’s most memorable moments.
Much of Spectrum was written during Sanchez’s time living in Shoreditch, London, where the city’s vibrant musical landscape helped shape the record’s distinctive character. Those British influences merge naturally with sounds inspired by Spain, the United States and the countless places that have become part of his international career.
Speaking about the project, Roger Sanchez describes Spectrum as a reflection of music, light and emotion.
«I’ve been working on this for the past six years, so it’s definitely a labour of love. During that time I travelled the world and worked with incredible vocalists and songwriters. There are flavours from the UK, Spain and the US. Everything belongs to the spectrum.»
Alongside its digital release, Spectrum will also receive a premium collector’s edition on transparent red triple vinyl, arriving on June 26. The package includes a limited signed art card and an exclusive bonus track available through a download code, making it an essential release for collectors and DJs alike.
To celebrate the album, Roger Sanchez embarks on an extensive summer tour across Europe, highlighted by his iconic Flower Power residency at Pacha Ibiza. The schedule also includes appearances at major festivals, Hacienda Classical performances in the UK and headline shows at some of Europe’s most respected clubs.
With Spectrum, Roger Sanchez reminds the electronic music world why he remains one of house music’s defining architects. More than a comeback album, it is the work of an artist who continues to evolve without losing the identity that made him a global icon.
Two decades later, the wait has been worth every beat.
