REYUS Makes His Debut With ‘I’m Listening’, A 20-Track Album Built Without Genre Boundaries
The independent electronic artist introduces his most ambitious project to date, blending House, Garage, Techno, Pop and Rock into a deeply personal debut shaped by creative independence.
What happens when an artist refuses to choose just one sound?
For REYUS, the answer is I’m Listening — an ambitious 20-track debut album that moves freely between Electronic, House, Garage, Techno, Pop and Rock, while exploring the personal experiences and emotions behind the music.
Rather than constructing an album around a single genre identity, REYUS has used I’m Listening as an opportunity to document the full range of his musical influences and creative instincts.
The result is a project that can move from high-energy dancefloor moments to more introspective passages, exploring themes including anxiety, relationships, internal thought and human connection.
The album also features collaborations with close friends and members of REYUS’ wider creative circle, adding another layer to a project built around collaboration and artistic freedom.
“This album represents the kind of artist I wanted to be when I was a kid, not tied down to one genre or subgenre,” says REYUS. “I listen to a huge range of music and what I want to create changes all the time, so this album represents that.”
Recorded between London, Dorking and Ibiza, I’m Listening reflects the environments and experiences that have shaped REYUS throughout his career.
Among its influences are artists such as Four Tet, Jamie xx, Bicep and Fred again.., but the album ultimately refuses to settle into any one lane.
“There are tracks for dancing, tracks for listening and different moods throughout,” he explains. “I hope people appreciate the range of creativity and, most importantly, enjoy the music.”
Building an International Reputation
REYUS has spent years developing a reputation for an eclectic catalogue and dynamic live performances, earning support from major names including Tiësto, Four Tet, Gorgon City, Jamie xx, Bicep, Vintage Culture, Diplo, Solomun, Mau P and CamelPhat.
The album was previewed at Tomorrowland Rooftop Terrace in Ibiza, The Egg and E1, where audiences were introduced to the project’s broad sonic range ahead of its official release.
His growing international profile was also reinforced through his REYUS & Friends headline events in 2025, which took him across the UK and Ibiza.
The series included performances at E1, Studio 338, Ministry of Sound, Café Mambo, 528 Ibiza and B Club Kensington, while his wider performance history has seen him share line-ups with artists including Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, Adriatique, Confidence Man, Basement Jaxx and Sparrow & Barbossa.
Independence at the Core
REYUS’ approach to music has always been closely connected to independence.
Based in Dorking, England, he began writing music at the age of 10 after being inspired by the late Tim Bergling. His first club performance came at 16, followed by nine years spent experimenting with different sounds and identities across the underground.
That experience eventually led him to establish his own label and company, creating a platform through which he could release music independently while retaining ownership of his work.
That control has allowed REYUS to avoid being restricted by a predetermined genre or commercial formula.
Instead, the music dictates the direction.
For an artist whose influences can move from underground electronic music to rock and pop, that freedom has become an essential part of the REYUS identity.
With I’m Listening, he brings those influences together into his most complete statement yet — a 20-track snapshot of the sounds, places, people and experiences that have shaped him.
REYUS is not trying to fit into a genre. He is building a world around his own.
‘I’m Listening’ is out now.
