The women-led electronic music initiative brings more than 40 artists, industry leaders and organizations together for a 12-hour event focused on access, mentorship, representation and the next generation of talent.

Change the Beat is taking its mission to one of the United Kingdom’s most influential electronic music venues. On Thursday, October 15, the international nonprofit will make its London debut at fabric, presenting a full-day program designed to connect artists with the professionals, organizations and opportunities that can help shape their careers.

Running from 3 pm to 3 am, the event will combine educational panels, an industry networking mixer, the Women Who Shaped Electronic Music photography exhibition and a club night in fabric’s Main Room. More than 40 artists, industry figures and organizations are expected to contribute to an initiative focused on building a more accessible and representative electronic music community.

Rather than limiting the conversation to visibility alone, Change the Beat is putting practical industry knowledge at the center of its London program. Three daytime panels will address some of the most important challenges facing artists as they navigate the business of electronic music.

Hosted by Sunita Dhaliwal of The Everyday Agency, the sessions will explore how DJs can secure bookings in London, how artists can approach leading dance music labels and what it takes to build effective relationships with managers and booking agents.

Katie Knight will moderate How to Get Booked as a DJ in London, featuring Alex Holland of Broadwick Live, Martha Bolton of Not Bad For A Girl, Pete Jordan of Junction 2 / LWE and Steven Braines of HE.SHE.THEY.

Change the Beat founder Sydney Blu will moderate How to Get Signed to an A-List Dance Label, joined by Andy Henderson of Southern Fried / Knee Deep In Sound, Chris Goss of Hospital Records, Miles Shackleton of Toolroom and Daniel Curpen of Anjunadeep.

The third panel, How to Get Representation: Managers & Agents, will be moderated by Finlay Johnson and feature Frances Shillito of Night Department, Kal Jhugroo of CAA, Shanae Dennis of The Team and Lucy Harrower of Frame Artists.

Collectively, the discussions will give artists the opportunity to hear directly from industry professionals about bookings, artist development, label relationships and representation — areas that can prove difficult to navigate without established connections.

“Bringing Change the Beat to fabric is a huge moment for us,” says Sydney Blu. “We’ve built this event around what we believe artists genuinely need — access to the people shaping the industry, honest conversations about how it works, and real opportunities to build relationships.”

The networking program will run from 7 pm to 10 pm in association with AFEM, Pete Tong DJ Academy, Not Bad For A Girl and Beatport. In addition to creating space for professional connections, the mixer will offer a performance opportunity for emerging DJs selected from Not Bad For A Girl and Pete Tong DJ Academy, with N1NJA also joining the lineup.

The photography exhibition Women Who Shaped Electronic Music will celebrate 18 pioneering and influential artists: ANNA, Annie Mac, Crystal Waters, DJ Minx, DJ Paulette, DJ Rap, Eli & Fur, Honey Dijon, Ida Engberg, Lottie, Lisa Lashes, Maya Jane Coles, Nicole Moudaber, Sam Divine, Sister Bliss of Faithless, Smokin Jo, Superjane and Ultra Naté.

The event will conclude with a club program in fabric’s Main Room from 10 pm to 3 am, featuring TSHA, Kitty Amor, Sydney Blu, Emily Nash and N1NJA.

The initiative also carries a long-term commitment beyond the dance floor. Proceeds from the club night will fund Change the Beat’s international artist development program, supporting education, mentorship and career opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists. The organization aims to help 300 artists secure label opportunities by 2028.

Change the Beat’s arrival in London marks another step in its international expansion, creating a meeting point between emerging talent and established industry networks. By combining education, direct access, artistic recognition and live performance, the organization is working to make inclusion a practical part of how electronic music careers develop.

For artists seeking to understand the industry, and for professionals committed to building a more representative scene, the London debut offers a platform for conversations that can extend well beyond a single event.
